The glittering, atmospheric sound of a mandolin or 12-string guitar in the shape of a ukulele. The compact and gloss-finished mahogany body of the Kala KA-6 projects warm tone and comes fitted with six strings. While this uke is played in the same way as a standard 4-string uke, the C and A strings have been doubled to produce that dreamy, harmonic sound. And, to round off the higher frequencies of the full and balmy foundation sound, a rosewood fretboard and bridge have been fitted.

The subtle aesthetics of the Gloss Mahogany Series is simply characterised by the gloss coated natural wood grain. Elegant yet understated, these instruments offer a transparent timbre that's further shaped by the warm accents that are typical of mahogany. Soprano, concert, six, or even eight-string models can be found in the extensive range, and each comes including its own case.

The Kala Brand Music Company was founded by Mike Upton in the US in 2005 and produces hand-made ukuleles, U-basses and guitars in Petaluma, California.
