No doubt you have seen them before: the big aluminium drums during a samba parade. This instrument is called a surdo and has a deep and full sound. With the SU16-L, Meinl supplies a 16-inch surdo from the Traditional series. The small diameter makes this surdo excellent for the fastest surdo part: the cutador. Traditionally, three different surdos are used in samba music, each with its own role. Show off flashy rhythms on this aluminium surdo. You can also integrate this surdo into your drum kit to add an extra deep sound. Special legs ensure stable placement in your set-up.
Meinl SU16-L: very complete
The batter is slightly damped which contributes to the dull deep sound of this instrument. The tension bolts are fully countersunk and give this quality surdo a traditional look and high playing comfort. With the included tuning spanner, you can easily change the tension on the sheet. The legs are fully adjustable in height, contributing to an ideal playing height. An asset to your drum kit or for use during samba performances.
