The world of guitars is home to a number of rare, illustrious models that were made for a short period of time yet still appeal to the imagination of many enthusiasts. The Squier Vista Super-Sonic, for instance. This model was made from 1996 to 1998 and seemed to be inspired by a reversed Fender Jaguar. Fender decided to offer the Super-Sonic once more, now as a part of their Pawn Shop series. This model has an Apple Red Flake Finish, a gorgeously glimmering red colour that is superbly complimented by a parchment-white pickguard.

The appearance of this guitar is distinctive for several reasons. There's the reversed headstock, a scale length of just 61 centimetres and the Jazz Bass-style volume knobs. The C-profile neck has a 9.5-inch fretboard radius and a 4-bolt mounted Super-Sonic-type neck plate. The two Atomic humbucking pickups ensure a warm, rich sound. Its stable, synchronised tremolo bridge provides as much sustain as possible and great tuning stability, partly due to the vintage-style machine heads.

Fender's Pawn Shop collection comprises an ever growing range of unusual guitars and bass guitars that were inspired by striking and rare Fender products from the '60s and '70s. Some of these guitars actually saw the light of day but are truly a rare breed these days. Where it comes to sound and build quality, the Pawn Shop models are very much up to date and provide an interesting mixture of various Fender features.
