Charvel's DS-2 ST (Transparent Black) is an electric guitar that is part of their Desolation series, a line of guitars that forms an exceptional addition to Charvel's already impressive range. This series offers you more choice in the looks and tone department and you can also rely on a powerful sound, striking looks and a proper dose of playing comfort. The DS-2 was recently upgraded with new bindings along the body and neck, keystone inlays on the fretboard and satin-gloss chrome-plated hardware.
Construction of the DS-2 ST TB
The full yet clear sounding body of the DS-2 ST is made of mahogany, just like its neck. The neck is set in, allowing for more sustain than you would get from a bolt-on neck. The beautifully shaped body features an elegant cutaway that - in combination with the pleasantly shaped, scalloped heel - makes it easy to reach even the highest of the 24 frets. Additionally, this guitar features a compound-radius fretboard for smooth playing from top to bottom.
Active pickups and Flame Maple
The DS-2's active pickups produce a wonderfully neat, full and powerful output, making them excellently suited for metal and the likes. Achieve the utmost from these pickups with the 3-position pickup switch and the volume and tone controls. Also, this guitar features stable locking machine heads and large frets for effortless bends. Naturally, the eye should not go wanting, which is why Charvel gave this compact guitar an elegant LP-style body with a beautifully grained Flame Maple veneer. The fretboard, lastly, features stylish Keystone position markers.
