This 14-inch pair of Mb20 hi-hats has a higher pitch than its larger, 15-inch sibling does, along with a shorter, drier pedal chick. These hi-hats are quite heavy, meaning you get a full, rich and loud sound, without having to hit them very hard.

Hand-crafted for optimal tone

The bottom cymbal has a special shape that prevents air-lock, where a vacuum between the two cymbals creates extra resistance. These hi-hats were hand-hammered into shape, optimising their sound and giving them a great look. They have a bright sound and a brilliant finish, that is created by polishing the cymbals to a shine. Finally, the B20 bronze alloy that they are made of, consists of copper, 20% tin and traces of silver.

Meinl's highly complete cymbal line-up

Meinl uses four different bronze alloys in their cymbals, that are all quite different in sound and intensity. The B20 and B12 alloys produce a warm, low sound, and the B10 and B8 alloys are generally a bit higher in pitch, so with these four different materials, Meinl has created wide range of cymbals that complement each other perfectly.
