Fazley Hot Rod FTD182SG-M Surf Green with Fixed Bridge

Cette guitare est très sympathique et agréable à jouer. Le manche est confortable et bien profilé, et l’instrument est bien équilibré, ni trop léger ni trop lourd. La finition est très réussie, avec une peinture superbe et un très bon ajustement entre le manche et le corps. Les cordes traversantes participent à une bonne résonance de l’instrument et contribuent à un son clair avec un petit twang très agréable. Les cordes montées d’origine sont cependant à remplacer immédiatement, et je conseille d’acheter un jeu de cordes en même temps que la guitare. J’ai également eu un léger buzz sur certaines frettes qui a nécessité une petite retouche, mais rien de sérieux. Les mécaniques sont un peu légères et pourraient être améliorées avec un upgrade. Dans l’ensemble, c’est une guitare simple, bien conçue et très plaisante, qui peut devenir encore meilleure avec un petit réglage chez un luthier.

Absolutely stunned when I unboxed this guitar – it's hard to believe this cost me less than £30 on sale. Feels like a premium instrument that punches way above its weight.
The paintwork is excellent, no imperfections at all.
What really impressed me was the neck – incredibly smooth edges and comfortable right out of the box, with no need for adjustments or setup. The action is spot-on. This is my 2nd Fazley and it won't be the last.

Pour le prix, c'est une très bonne guitare.
La config un humbucker et un potard est juste top. La couleur est fun aussi, peut-être qu'une déclinaison un peu plus classique (noir , blanc) serait le bienvenu.
Achetée dans le but de la laisser au local de répète, j'envisage d'en acheter une deuxième pour expérimenter des upgrades, surtout les mécaniques et tester une autre micro, même si celui d'origine fait le boulot.
Soit, je ne peux que recommander cette guitare.

What a corker!
I really fancied this simple stripped down Strat with a nice chunky neck after seeing Phil X with his stripped down SG. Love it's simplicity and colour, also the price tag.
I wasn't expecting the earth for the low cost... but what a pleasant shock to find such good quality. For a start, I quite like a little thicker neck. I didn't need to shim it, and there were no sharp fret ends. Action was so good that it only needed a tweak. Strings were not,but I always replace them anyway. No real finish on the fretboard, but as long as I keep my strings clean it won't go grubby. I thought to probably swap out the humbucker for a decent one. No problem shelling out as the guitar was such low cost, but I didn't need to. I love the bright spanky sound, and if you back off the vol knob a little, the tone mellows nicely so the twin coil stays put. It has plenty of bite for solos without sounding thin. The Hot Rod will have its limitations with the absence of a neck pickup depending on the style you play, but I got around that easily.
It's a nice weight and very easy to play as I found out at band practice. It didn't let me down one bit. I normally take my Dean ml or my Jackson Dinky...but I was confident this little Fazley could hold its own, even in the face of that competition, and it did pretty damn well. No buzzing or feedback, just good and punchy. I am truly delighted with it, definitely gig-able and considering it's low cost its still a great sounding and eye catching little rocker. I honestly could find no fault. They also come a yellow and black tiger stripe design which look pretty cool too.

You can't really ever be disappointed with a cheap guitar...you can however be surprised and impressed...squire build for less than encore money, surprising amount of heft in the body and a pickup comparable to entry level Jackson's/ibanez's. Amazing squeaky action, nice sustain and despite the baseball bat neck actually relatively easy to get comfortable on however us long fingered big palmed fiends will adapt quicker, if your on the fence this could be the best 80-90ish quid you'll ever spend! Where were cheap good quality guitars like this when I was a kid!

Por el precio es una muy buena compra. Lo que más me ha sorprendido es el sonido de la pastilla, muy nítida, recuerda a las eléctricas de los 80 tipo Charvel, Kramer, etc de una sola pastilla. Eso sí las cuerdas son horribles y hay que cambiarlas lo antes posible. Lo único que no me ha convencido pero es normal por el precio ridículo que cuesta la guitarra es donde se junta el cuerpo con el mástil, el cuerpo está mal recortado. Por lo demás estoy más que satisfecho

@Peter Dutch Holland, bedankt voor je review. Dit is de oude versie van de Fazley Hot Rod en deze is alleen beschikbaar in Surf Green. De nieuwe versie wordt aangeduid met "V2" en heeft een betere Wilkinson brug met strings-through-body. De V2 is beschikbaar in drie kleuren, waaronder inderdaad ook Surf Green. Het prijsverschil zit hem dus voornamelijk in de brug die van betere kwaliteit is.

Heb ik iets gemist? Op de site staan 4 types (kleuren) Hotrod Fazley gitaren. Twee daarvan zijn volgens de foto 'surfgreen' beide vreemd genoeg met dezelfde aanduiding type: Hot Rod V2 FTD182SG-M. Ik koop de Fazley met de meest frisgroene kleur. Die kost 99Euro. De andere, beetje grijsgroen van kleur kost 92Euro. Ik neem dus die van 99Euro. Wat blijkt: er is maar een surfgroene versie. Het verschil zit in een afwijking van de kleur van het fotootje. Mensen let op. Koop dus die van 92Euro want het is gewoon die van 99Euro. Snap je het nog? Hoop dat Bax de negen Euro verschil terug betaald of als tegoedbon met me regelt. Als ik ergens iets heb gemist hoor ik het ook graag.

Ik was al een tijdje op zoek naar een Strat of gelijksoortig model in een vrolijk fel kleurtje. Ik kende het merk niet echt en gezien de prijs leek het mij niet dat gitaren van Fazley goed konden zijn. Na wat reviews op YouTube te hebben gekeken van deze gitaar die allemaal positief waren een week geleden toch besloten deze hot rod te bestellen. En daar heb ik zeker geen spijt van.

Ik moest hem een klein beetje afstellen (intoneren, actie wat lager en de hals een beetje), maar daarna speelde hij gewoon prima. Geen scherpe fretten die het speelplezier verpesten, hij blijft goed op stemming, de electronica is prima. Hij speelt gewoon fijn en klinkt boven verwachting goed.

Mijn plan was eigenlijk om er meteen een andere pickup in te gooien, maar nu ik heb éénmaal getest heb (over een Marshall JCM900 en een DSL20) heb ik daar minder haast mee. Overdrive en distortion klinkt gewoon goed, clean doet hij wel ok, maar als je het volume op de gitaar wat terug draait klinkt dat ook al beter.

Je kan aan sommige dingetjes zeker wel zien dat dit een goedkope gitaar is, maar alle belangrijke dingen zijn gewoon goed. Voor nog geen 100,- heb je een gitaar die zeker niet onder doet voor sommige merken en modellen die 2x zo duur zijn.
