Since rosewood is now a protected species, Gretsch have selected the closest alternative and fitted the G2220 bass with a walnut fretboard, which enhances the sound with natural warmth and adds a light boost to the sonic definition.

Compared to most single-cut basses, the basswood body of the Jet has a comfy, lightweight feel that's balanced out by the bolt-on maple neck and the nimble playability of a 12 inch fretboard radius and shorter 30.3 inch scale length. The mid-range rich acoustic foundation is captured with full and round warmth by the two Gretsch Single-Coil Bass pickups, which inject just enough definition, and a clean and articulate output, free of any unwanted buzz and hum.
