The Tama IPT12A-CPM is a 12 x 9-inch tom made from six plies of poplar and finished in Candy Apple Mist. The poplar gives this tom a clear tone and great resonance, while the compact Imperialstar lugs and Tama Precision Bearing Edges help the 7.5mm-thick shell resonate freely.
Wrap
Tama took a good look at every little detail of their Imperialstar drums, and then decided what needed improvement. A great example is the fact that the wrap has been glued to the shell of this snare drum in its entirety, while other manufacturers only apply glue to a few spots. Gluing the entirety of the wrap to the shell, combined with the bearing edges and small lugs, gives this tom its enhanced resonance. A high-quality tom for a low price!
