Polish based Taurus have been bucking the guitar amplifier trend ever since they first introduced their range of pedalboard-friendly amps. The Stomp-Head 2 is the fourth model to be added to their infamous series and is even more compact and even more lightweight than its forerunners. Don't be fooled by its modest exterior however, since this little white stompbox is a fully-fledged and certified amplifier. Connect it to your speaker cabinet and use this feisty wee fella as an amp head (controlled by a separately available footswitch), or add the Stomp-Head 2 to your pedalboard and use it as the stompbox it was destined to be.

The Taurus Stomp-Head 2: Tube-Driven, Two-Channel Guitar Amplifier

The Stomp-Head 2 gives you separate lead and clean channels. Some frayed edges can be added to the Clean channel using the Crunch control, and the Lead channel naturally comes with a Drive control to add more overdriven punch and both have an independent 3-band EQ and volume pot. Everything is preamplified via a genuine 12AX7 tube while the solid-state power amp can be switched from an output of 60 to 25 Watts for those quieter, more contemplative moments in life.

FX-Loop and Automatic Switching Speaker Outputs

To send your modulation and distortion rammed pedalboard through the Taurus Stomp-Head 2, an FX-Loop is included around the back, next to a Gain switch that tells the amp if you're using active or high-output pickups. The smart single speaker output automatically detects whether you're connecting a 4, 8 or 16 Ohm cabinet and, since this is an undoubtedly hot stompbox, there's a silent cooling fan and a switch that accommodates both 110V/230V power so you can use this little amp the world over.
