After the thunderous success of the ENGL 309 MetalMaster guitar amp, ENGL received a lot of requests for a similar amp with even more power. Their response was the 319 MetalMaster 40. Now the original MetalMaster tube amp is back and better than ever, with double the power, making it suitable for small to medium-sized gigs! Thanks to the variable output, this compact powerhouse is also still perfectly comfortable at home or in the studio. With all of the connection options added to the mix, you can bet you buttons that the ENGL 309 is one versatile amp head.

Metal Master

For a two-channel amplifier geared toward heavier music styles, separate tone controls per channel is no extra luxury, but a must-have. The master volume control allows you to adjust the total volume without affecting the balance between the two channels. With the clean channel, you can get the sparkling cleans you'd expect from an EL84 power tube amp, and if you crank up the gain you'll get a nice crunch. The gain channel offers anything from heavy overdrive to screaming distortion. It can all be adjusted via the 3-band EQ, so you can get that modern scooped-mid metal sound in no time. You can even throw in some extra ambience with the built-in reverb.

Power Soak and connectors

40 watts of power can definitely do some damage on stage. Normally, you wouldn't be able to use such an amp at home, which is why ENGL equipped it with the innovative Power Soak function, so you can turn down the power in steps. Now you can choose between 40 watts, 5 watts for smaller rooms, or 1 watt for practising quietly in the bedroom. The amp is also equipped with a speaker emulated line-out for studio use. Finally, you can connect your favourite effects via the FX loop, and for extra ease of use, you can hook up the optional ENGL foot switch.
