Roli are known for their creative, innovative controllers like the Seaboard, and lately they have come up with a more compact, portable controllers. The Roli Songmaker Kit performance set consists of a smaller version of the Seaboard, a Lightpad and a Loop Block, and a frame to hold everything together. It also includes software so you can start using it right away!

The Roli Songmaker Kit: Seaboard

The LoopBlock speaks for itself, and the Lightpad is obviously the touchpad but the Seaboard is actually a sort of touch pad but with tangible moulded sections that feel like keys. You can create pitch-bending effects by pushing your finger to the left or right on one of these moulded keys. Playing the Seaboard takes some getting used to, but once you've got the hang of it, you can deliver amazing performances with unparalleled expression. You have to imagine it as a violin-piano hybrid.

Roli Songmaker Kit performance set

Dit (en dus niet alleen de B-Stock) is een geweldige kit om te beginnen met het fantastische ROLI systeem. Ik ben zelf vrij vaak niet zo van het "nieuwe", want het oude deed het ook al die jaren fantastisch, gezien de muziek die we kunnen luisteren al die tijd. Maar dit is echt iets innovatiefs. De software (ROLI Studio) is al een pareltje op zichzelf, maar komt pas echt los als je dan ook MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) apparatuur hebt, zoals dit setje. Wat je hiermee uit kan halen is al een feest op zichzelf. Wel een belangrijk probleem, je kan DAGEN blijven pielen wat natuurlijk de productie een beetje naar beneden haalt, maar de inspiratie die je er weer mee opdoet, is bergen groot! 1 woord: Fantastisch!
