M-Audio ha ideato questa variante a 88 tasti della Keystation per coloro che cercano in un controller MIDI la tastiera completa di un pianoforte. A dispetto del costo piuttosto moderato, questa tastiera MIDI USB è decisamente potente e completa. La Keystation 88 II può essere collegata al vostro PC o Mac attraverso il cavo USB offerto in dotazione. Il singolo cavo USB provvede all'alimentazione e alla connessione MIDI necessaria, per cui non occorre adoperare ulteriori cavi o adattatori di corrente. Questa è la versione 2014 con un nuovo look color antracite e pratici aggiornamenti.
M-Audio Keystation 88 II: tutte le funzioni più essenziali
Nei moderni controller MIDI spesso abbondano funzioni troppo elaborate e controlli superflui. L'M-Audio Keystation 88 II è più orientata a migliorare la suonabilità e offre pertanto solo le funzioni più essenziali. Potrete disporre delle manopole pitch bend e di modulazione e dei pulsanti di trasposizione delle ottave, se utilizzate campionamenti particolarmente elaborati, così come di un regolatore di volume. La vera novità della versione 2014 è costituita dai controlli di trasporto e direzionali per suonare, eseguire e registrare con il software DAW in dotazione senza utilizzare mouse o trackpad.
Pedale sustain e software
Per suonare con maggiore espressività, l'M-Audio Keystation 88 è provvista di un ingresso da 6,3 mm per pedale sustain, come l'SP-2 (disponibile separatamente). Anche il software in dotazione è aggiornato al 2014. Oltre ad Ableton Live Lite, troverete in dotazione il pianoforte a coda virtuale "Eighty-Eight Ensemble" di SONIVOX. Così potrete direttamente registrare e rielaborare tutte le vostre produzioni alla tastiera. Utilizzando il Camera Connection Kit di Apple (disponibile separatamente), potrete anche collegare la Keystation 88 al vostro dispositivo iOS.

De controller voelt goed aan, speelt fijn, en de toetsen voelen zoals het hoort voor deze prijs.
Dit is ook waarom ik het heel jammer vind dat na 2 keer de USB stekker eruit te halen de poort op de controller kapot is gegaan (het middelste stuk plastic is er uitgevallen). Hierdoord dacht ik dat het een goed isee was om een midi-usb kabel te kopen met een 9v power supply. aangezien deze controller ook een midi out heeft. Het blijkt dus nadat deze zijn binnengekomen dat deze controller nooit heeft gewerkt met 9v.
Hierdoor is deze controller voor mij niet bruikbaar.
Dit kan misschien een hele kleine kans zijn, maar ik denk dat hier wel voor opgepast moet worden.

Keyboard voelt goed aan, er zijn nog een hoop dingen die je zelf kunt instellen zoals de functies van de modwheels links. Ik heb er een sustainpedaal bijgekocht, die is wel onmisbaar. Aansluiting op mac gewoon USB inpluggen en klaar! Gezien de lage prijs zou ik niets anders gekozen willen hebben.

Na twee dagen, keyboard in goede staat ontvangen. Stevig ingepakt. Keyboard op zich is mooi, lightweight, en toetsen voelen goed aan. Natuurlijk, semi gewogen maar prima! De behuizing voelt een beetje cheap aan aangezien die prijs. Maar ik ben helemaal tevreden. Dit is al mijn 4de aankoop van keyboard want ik heb al M-audio code 61, Akai mpk61 en Arturia keylab 61 mkii gekocht en een paar accessoiries. Bax Shop is echt een aanrader! Tot nu toe nooit probleem meegehad qua aankoop. Bax Shop, I'll be BAX!

Heb dit MIDI keyboard als MIDI in voor een MIDI sequencer.
PROBLEEM: Als de sequencer een song afspeelt, dan is gebleken na vele uitvoerige tests - met verschillende sequencers - Cirklon, Korg X3R en Seq - en een dozijn verschillende synth modules - dat dit keyboard MIDI data lekt
Als gevolg daarvan vermengt die dtata zich met de sequencer output song data, wat resulteert in een willekeurige hussel van noten brei etc. ongeacht hoe de MIDI filters staan ingesteld op de sequencer of op de synth modules, en ongeacht op welk channel of hoe anders dit keyboard staat ingesteld, idem of er nou wel of geen control data in de song zit.
OPLOSSING: zet voor het afspelen van de sequencer song de POWER van dit keyboard OFF! Problem 100% solved!
Voor de rest een erg fijn keyboard, mooie zachte romige kleur toetsen, vind ik erg chique vergeleken met dat ordinaire sneeuwwit van Arturia bijvoorbeeld ;) De toetsen zijn binnen een marge van circa 0,85 millimeter niet even hoog.
En erg handige shortcuts voor alle settings.
Ik geef 3 sterren vanwege de MIDI lekkage. Ware dat niet aan de hand, dan gaf ik 5 sterren.

Ik gebruik deze via standaard MIDI op mijn vintage Korg X3R, voor welke ik een goedkope koopgoede no-nonsense volledige 88 klavier nodig had. Dus kocht ik op de gok een B-stock. Geen spijt.
Werkt allemaal prima. Handige "advanced" setting functies op het paneel, dus geen computer nodig om dat ding te configureren. Wat de sustain pedaal functie betreft, wel op de desbetreffende synth module de program change aan zetten, want anders sustaint die niet.
De spacing tussen de keys is niet overal exact gelijkmatig en de hoogte van de toetsen is niet overal exact hetzelfde, maar ach, dat kan de pret niet drukken voor dit belachelijk laag prijsje. Speelt best wel lekker, evenwel na wat gewenning want de vering vind ik ietwat aan de stroperige kant. Toetsen zijn wel allemaal precies even responsive.
Plastic behuizing had van mij wat stijver gemogen. De kleur vind ik saai. Liever zwart of wit maar niet donker-grijs / licht-antraciet.
Kortom, een leuk stukje engineering dat toetsenbord, geen oeverloze gimmicks op dat ding, geen configuratie computer / software nodig, ofschoon je de M-Audio Keystation 88 natuurlijk wel met een computer / daw kunt gebruiken, en een stoot garantie, nou, allemaal perfect toch. Dus 5 sterren.
