The surdo is undeniably the combustion-engine of Samba music and with the Meinl SU20-L-AB-M surdo, you get all of that combustive depth of sound and drive as well a traditional finish. Since it can played as a floor-standing instrument or integrated into a full kit, the SU20-L-AB-M surdo comes with its own set of legs. The comfortable 14-inch high drum is made of 6-ply hardwood to shape warm tonality.

The ever-versatile surdo is usually played with large wooden beaters to draw out its deep low end. The SU20-L-AB-M comes with all the full bass sound expected of a surdo and, since it's part of the Traditional Series, Meinl have mounted it with sunken tension rods that don't get in the way of playing and fitted highly durable synthetic batter head.
