Propellerhead's versatile software Reason is known as the Swiss Army Knife of DAWs. This version 10 upgrade has VST support, 6 additional soft synths and 3 GB of samples and loops. In Reason 9.5, the Swedish software developers added support for third-party VST instruments and in version 10, they go a step further by making VST a completely independent platform. This gives artists/producers all the space they need to experiment and let their creative juices flow. For many, Reason 10 could very well be the ultimate DAW platform to beat!

Propellerhead Reason 10 software di produzione musicale in inglese
Perfecte keuze. Belangrijkste pluspunten:
+ Werkt sneller en intuitiever dan Ableton Live;
+ De VST's van Arturia (Pigments en AnalogLab) zijn perfect te integreren;
+ Het belangrijkste is dat de latency op mijn (Lenovo) PC slechts 8 ms bedraagt, zodat (live) spelen
een plezier blijft. Daarom is de keuze op Reason gevallen en niet op Ableton Live. In de Lite versie
van AL ligt de latency op minimaal 90 ms en daarmee is niet te werken.
+ De standaard Reason sounds en samples (etc.) zijn voortreffelijk.
Belangrijkste minpunten:
- Reason is niet geintegreerd als DAW in Arturia's Keylab 49/61 mk2. De op de website te downloaden CODEC
is bedoeld voor de Keylab 49 of 61, niet voor de mk2. Daarvoor heb ik een workaround
gemaakt die werkt als de DAW mode is ingesteld op MCU en het keyboard is ingesteld op AnalogLab
(dus niet in DAW of User). Eerst op KeyLab de DAW mode instellen op MCU (niet HUI). Dan in Reason
Options - Remote Override Edit Mode klikken en Keylab in User mode bank 1 zetten. De knoppen in
Reason dubbelklikken (roterende bliksemschicht) en op Keylab de gewenste control bewegen of klikken.
Dat werkt dus ook met de transporttoetsen. Dan zie je in Reason wel bijv. "Note A5"bij de
Stoptoets, maar de keyboard note A5 werkt gewoon als key en niet als stoptoets. A little bit fishy,
maar het werkt. Daarna Remote Override verlaten en de song opslaan. Tenslotte Keylab in Analog Lab
mode zetten.
- De Remote Override settings worden per song opgeslagen. Ze kunnen niet als een apart werkbestandje
worden opgeslagen, maar wel gekopieerd naar een andere song. Aandachtspuntje.
Al met al wel een prima DAW!

Erg tevreden, nog veel te leren maar tot nu toe werkt alles enorm goed. Makkelijk om te beginnen en veel ondersteuning te vinden online.

Superbe programme, le seul DAW que je trouve relativement intuitif. J'adore la facilité qu'on a à l'aborder et les résultats rapides qu'on peut obtenir sans s'énerver à chercher "comment avoir ce p***** de son"
