Workstations a thing of the past? Certainly not, as Roland prove with the highly-advanced FA-06B Music Workstation. It's a genuine all-rounder for any keyboard-musician, fitted with 61 keys and packed with over 2,000 top-shelf samples and sounds coming from the Integra-7 sound module and the built-in SuperNATURAL synth engine. The FA-06 weighs less than 6 kilos, can be extended even more via expansion cards and has everything it needs to be a serious studio or on-stage asset.

FA-06B: Workstation Dimensions

The FA-06B can be used in various situations, whether song-writing, arranging or controlling and integrating studio software and stage performances. Roland have designed the workstation with user-friendliness in mind and have made the conscious choice to not include an overkill of menu buttons but to go for an efficient control panel instead. With a large, backlit data knob, a large colour display and six real-time rotary knobs to control the sound (ADSR), effects, EQ or any custom assignment, you've got hands-on control over all vital functions.

Trigger Pads and DAW Integration

Roland have implemented the pad bank featured in (older) Fantom models in the FA-06, which offers 16 illuminated pads that can be used to trigger samples. Indeed, a sampler has been built-in and is capable of lightning-fast audio processing with virtually non-existent loading times to ensure all samples can be summoned instantly. Use the DAW Control button to switch over to the digital domain and use the USB port to turn the FA-06 into a fully-fledged audio interface. From stereo audio to guitars and vocals, this workstation can route an external sound source directly to your DAW. In addition, MIDI signals can be sent via various buttons and knobs while mapping is available for seamless integration with most DAWs.
