The Moog Werkstatt 01 & CV Expander is a solder-free, analogue synthesizer DIY kit. Originally designed as a case study for MoogFest, the Werkstatt 01 turned out to be a brilliant little synth and makes for a great introduction into the world of modular synthesizers. The Werkstatt 01 comes with a 13-button mini-keyboard so you can start cooking up melodies and bass lines right away and, thanks to the included CV Expander, even those already wise to the ways of synthesizers can integrate this plucky unit into their existing set-up.

Ha scritto quanto segue su Moog Werkstatt 01 & CV Expander Analogue Synthesizer

Oh yes - eindelijk !!!
Ik heb mijn oog al heel lang geleden op de Werkstatt-01 laten vallen. Verwacht niet dat dit een top level analoge synth is. Ik was verrast over de kwaliteit van het geluid, wat dat betreft is dit een echte Moog en dat blijkt ook uit de klank van de VFC. Voor mij is dit een leuk "speeltje" om de wereld van analoge synthesizers te verkennen en er langzaam verschillende modules aan toe te voegen.
De Werkstatt-01 levert een mooi geluid als toevoeging aan bestaande apparatuur maar omdat er maar 1 VCO in zit is het geluid wel wat 'dun'. Het verschil met de Mother-32 is wel groot. De Mother-32 heeft een 2e VCO, een ingebouwde sequencer, grotere knoppen die lekker stabiel aanvoelen, een MIDI ingang en meer mogelijkheden om te patchen. Daarmee biedt de Mother-32 wel heel veer waar voor zijn geld maar voor zijn prijs biedt de Werkstatt-01 een hoop fun.
