For more than 25 years, the consistent, harmonious sound of Pearl Session Series drums has been heard on countless recordings. While the shell construction has evolved over the years, this special edition of the Session Studio Select makes a return to the original birch and mahogany recipe and the thinner 5.4mm-thick six-ply shell walls complete the combo, shaping a warm and full foundation that still delivers plenty of volume and power. The four-piece STS924XSP shell set bundles up a 22 inch by 16 inch kick drum, a 10 inch by 7 inch and 12 inch by 8 inch tom, and a 16 inch by 16 inch floor tom. Note that this set doesn't include a snare, tom mounts, stands or cymbals.

To fully optimise the response of the wood, Pearl has given this shell set a few unique features. The thin walls open up the sustain without compromising any of the articulation, while the Masterworks Series 60° bearing edges inject extra punch and increased focus into the sound while tempering overtones. Polished off with a set of 2.3mm SuperHoop II tension hoops and Remo drumheads, every element has been added to get the very best performance out of the drums.
