LD Systems Dave 8 XS draagbaar PA-systeem zwart

Geen toeters en bellen, maar wel kwaliteit voor een goede prijs. Ik heb de installatie gebruikt als PA met DJ op een feest met meer dan 65 personen. Half volume was al meer dan genoeg voor een gevulde dansvloer. In de toekomst zal de PA zonder moeite de zang ondersteunen in onze (rock) band.

In a word: wow.

They have exceeded my expectations for both sound quality and volume level. The reproduction is somewhere between PA and hifi and is extremely good to listen to. I have them set up in my home studio room and have used with a DJ setup, and productions directly from my computer. They are much MUCH louder than really required in this environment but it means they produce a sound effortlessly with a feeling of managed power.

The MTM satellites have a pleasing top end and great mid-range. The subwoofer has a surprising amount of bass. Not quite in the chest-shaking zone you would get from a 12" or larger sub, but still enough to shake the floor. Once the levels are setup it is a really pleasing sound that is not fatiguing at all. I could happily listen to them for pure enjoyment on a range of musical styles. For me, listening, mixing and producing electronic music they are perfect in the room setting I have them in. A great option to listen to tracks on a system that is audibly closer to what would be used at a party or club. For DJing they are just pure fun and sound fantastic. I can't wait to use them at parties and have no doubt of the quality of sound they will put out.

As the other review states, these are not usable straight from the box as require speakon-terminated cables to run from the subwoofer to the satellites. I was aware of this so ordered the accessory kit at the same time, but be aware that the cables are required. You don't need to necessarily buy the whole LD Systems pack of accessories as you may not need the stands for example, but just be sure to get the speaker cables.

Another item which I would say is important - especially if you plan to transport them - would be the speaker grilles. There is zero protection and I managed to dent a tweeter dust cap just when moving them. My fault, but where the rest of them are so solid, it's easy to forget. Luckily it was easy to pop out with some gaffer tape so no lasting issue.

Update: met alle bekabeling is de geluidsinstallatie wel insane!

Heb deze installatie gekocht denkende dat ik het uitpak en direct muziek kan beginnen luisteren… neen. Ze moeten er bij zetten dat er GEEN kabels bij zitten om de 2 speakers met de woofer te verbinden. Best frustrerend.
(Geen 5 sterren het is niet aan te passen. Ik zou deze speaker wel 5 sterren willen geven maar heb ze na een week nog niet kunnen testen.)
