This snare drum stand has a number of advantages, compared to other stands. It works well, and it's easy and quick to operate. Simply rest your snare drum against the supports on the bottom two arms of the basket, and then tighten the third arm, which then grips your snare drum tightly. As this snare does not need the usual threaded rod with a turning knob, like most snare stands do, the HS100W allows you to position your snare drum quite a bit lower. Tama calls this system the 'cradle-hold snare basket' system. This is ideal for young, short drummers that need to sit quite low to be able to reach the pedals.

Furthermore, this stand - just as all the other products in the STAR hardware line - is equipped with Tama's True Sound Insulation Mute system, which ensures that the vibrations of your instrument are not transferred to the stand. This stand is suited for snare drums between 12 and 15 inches in diameter. Finally, Tama has fitted the feet with retractable spikes, which ensure that this stand stays firmly in place.
