The APX series is known for containing some of Yamaha's most popular electro-acoustic guitars, and now the manufacturer has come out with a new version of the trusted entry-level western: the APX500II. The amplifier system is more powerful than ever, and the exterior is even more attractive. The body has white bindings, a metallic red high-gloss lacquer, and an oval sound-hole decorated with mother-of-pearl. The un-amplified sound of the APX500II is full and warm, yet clear. What's more, this steel-string guitar plays very easily thanks to the small neck and shorter strings, in addition to the cutaway which makes the highest frets easily accessible. All of this works together to make an outstanding guitar for a serious beginner!

The multifaceted APX500II

The APX-500II is great for playing at home, in the studio, or on stage. The un-amplified acoustic sound is balanced and warm, but with enough mids and treble to sing out over other instruments. To achieve this, Yamaha chose to use spruce for the top and nato for the sides and back. Connect it to an acoustic guitar amp or a PA system to hear a whole different side of this guitar. The System65 preamplifier delivers a strong, dynamic tone that can be controlled with the 3-band equalizer and AMF mid-tone regulator. The cherry on top is the built-in tuner with display, which makes tuning easier than ever.
