The VOX ToneLab EX is a versatile floor guitar effect and modelling processor that offers an easy, instructive control panel for making the most beautiful sounds. The integrated 12AX7 tube ensures warm, dynamic intonation just like you'd get from a real tube amp. The ToneLab EX is built like a tank and also features a full-fledged VOX expression pedal that not only can be used for volume control, but also for influencing effect parameters.
Advanced amplifier, cabinet and effect modelling technology
With the VOX ToneLab EX puts 33 realistic amp models and 11 cabinets at your disposal, which offers you up to 363 combinations! Besides that, there are also 44 different stompbox, modulation, delay and reverb effects, and you can use up to nine of them simultaneously. If you're not a programming whiz, that's no problem, because you can choose from 100 preprogrammed presets, fifty of which are based on famous songs. The ToneLab EX also offers 100 memory slots for saving your own sounds.
Unbelievably versatile with many extra functions
Something incredibly unique about the VOX ToneLab EX is the pair of integrated mini stereo monitor speakers. They make it easy to listen to your sound without needing to connect a guitar amp or headphones, which is of course ideal for quickly checking your sound backstage. With the clear chromatic tuner your guitar will always sound its best, and you can even connect your CD/MP3 player or iPod via the AUX input to play along with your favourite music. Finally, you can make use of the USB port for making recordings on your computer or for editing your sound with the Librarian software.

Ik heb lang getwijfeld tussen de nieuwe Boss ME-80 en dit apparaat, maar heb uiteindelijk gekozen voor de VOX, vanwege de buis. Die levert inderdaad een prachtig geluid op. Alleen al daarom was het de juiste keuze.
Als je gaat voor een apparaat dat je intuïtief kunt gebruiken, dan is deze VOX Tonelab EX misschien niet de juiste keuze, omdat instellingen soms wat meer verstopt zitten. Maar zoals al in eerdere recensies aangegeven, als je je even verdiept in de handleiding, dan is het eigenlijk toch wel logisch.
De USB interface maakt het mogelijk om geluiden en instellingen te bewaren en kopiëren en geluid rechtstreeks op te nemen, een mooie toevoeging bovenop het via de versterker spelen.
Kortom, een mooi apparaat, met een prima geluid. Zeker een aanrader.

De sounds die je kunt maken zijn fantastisch en als je hem dan op een clean kanaal van je versterker zet is het net alsof je een buizenversterker hebt. De kast is zeer degelijk en dat geldt ook voor de schakelaars die door de stabiliteit van de kast prettig te bedienen zijn.
Kortom een super apparaat.
