The VR7288CDK drum set from Mapex' Voyager series is a real Monster for real Rebel drummers. Mapex, one of the biggest, most popular manufacturers on the market, has always put sound first, and that is apparent in this kit. The shells of this 7-piece kit are made of 9 plies of basswood and finished with a beautiful black wrap, while the chrome hoops and hardware give the kit a timeless look. Because of it's configuration, you might think that this kit is mostly suited for hard rock music. However, when you look at the shell dimensions and take into account that the snare drum is also made of basswood, you'll find that this rebellious monster is actually remarkably versatile. It's also quite suited for fusion, pop and jazz. Besides, the first drummers that started using two bass drums were all jazz drummers!

Mapex Voyager Rebel Monster 7-piece drum set

The Rebel Monster drum kit is part of Mapex' Voyager series and has two identical 22 x 18-inch bass drums, two 10 x 8 and 12 x 9-inch toms, and two 14 x 12 and 16 x 14-inch floor toms. The 14 x 5-inch snare drum is also made of nine plies of basswood. All shells are 7.2mm thick, giving every separate element excellent resonance and a lot of volume. The shells have a black wrap that is securely glued to the wood. and they are equipped with high-quality Remo UX drumheads, allowing you to get right to work. Thanks to the SONIClear tom mounting system, which makes minimal contact with the shells, the vibrations are contained within the toms, allowing them to resonate optimally. Furthermore, it prevents the toms from resonating with the bass drums. The hoops on the shells are also from the SONIClear line and ensure a stable tuning.

Hardware

The Voyager Rebel Monster drum set comes with a full set of hardware. This set consists of a sturdy drum throne, two bass drum pedals, a snare drum stand, two boom cymbal stands, a hi-hat pedal, two tom holders and of course the legs for both floor toms. All stands are chrome-plated, have double-braced legs for extra stability, and are equipped with memory locks.
