Over ten years ago, Gretsch opened its Custom Shop, resulting in a large number of exceptional, high-quality guitars. To commemorate its 'birthday', the legendary guitar brand has issued this dazzling 10th Anniversary Duo Jet NOS. Handmade by Gretsch's best guitar builders from the finest wood types and components, this highly exclusive guitar features a beautiful pearloid top with a stunning transparent red nitro cellulose lacquer finish. Only ten pieces have been built, so this remarkable Gretsch instrument is already a collector's item!
Construction of the Custom Shop 10th Anniversary Duo Jet NOS
Beneath its gorgeous pearloid exterior, this good-looking Duo Jet features a chambered mahogany body with an arched, laminated maple top – a pleasantly lightweight construction that provides the guitar with an open sound with rich mids. The set mahogany neck is fitted with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with stylish Hump Block inlays, and both body and neck feature elegant white pearloid bindings. A silver pickguard, adorned with the 10th Anniversary Gretsch Custom Shop logo, and a headstock with a vintage-style script Gretsch logo complete the overall splendid look of this limited edition guitar.
Electronics and hardware
In order to ensure the authentic vintage Gretsch sound, this luxury Duo Jet is equipped with a set of Seymour Duncan DynaSonic pickups. A classic, fully adjustable Synchro-Sonic bridge combined with a stylish Cadillac-style tailpiece with a G-logo takes you back decades in time, and high-grade Gotoh open-back tuners adorn the head of the Custom Shop 10th Anniversary Duo Jet. Four G-style knobs (2x volume, master volume, master tone) and Gretsch straplocks provide the finishing touches to this fine piece of American artistry.
