You have Limited Edition guitars and you have very Limited Edition guitars. This black Gretsch G5422TDCG FSR with gold-coloured hardware that's been dubbed 'Black Falcon', definitely belongs to the latter category. The Factory Special Run by Gretsch is so rare that only a few of these guitars are available. Luckily, Bax-shop managed to acquire a couple of these semi-hollow bodies, which are based on the famous Electromatic series with double cutaways. Only a few of these guitars are made

Gretsch G5422TDCG 'Black Falcon': detailed finish

These Gretsch guitars are fitted with two famous 'Black Top' FilterTron pickups that take care of that typical Gretsch sound. Gretsch put a lot of effort in this guitar's finish. The three volume controls (one per pickup, plus a master volume), the master tone button, and the three-way pickup switch, as well as the vintage-style tuners, the Bigsby Licensed B60 tailpiece with vibrato arm and pickguard, are all finished with a beautiful gold colour. The maple body has been reinforced with Gretsch's Sound Post Bracing to prevent feedback.

Extra luxurious looks

This guitar's neck is also made of maple and features a nice rosewood fretboard, decorated with pearloid hump-block position markers. Furthermore, its Adjusto-Matic bridge has a rosewood core and its body and neck are decorated with beautiful bindings that give the instrument an extra luxurious look. This striking semi-acoustic guitar features a black urethane lacquer with high-gloss finish. It's a beautiful, rare instrument with a remarkably budget-friendly price.

The beautiful black-and-gold G5422TDCG Electromatic 'Black Falcon' is probably the best Factory Special Run guitar that Gretsch made to date.
