For modern guitarists, a Vintage Hot Rod-Fender is an attractive guitar by definition. This '60s Olympic White Stratocaster is a marvellous example. It combines the design and build qualities of the sixties Stratocasters with modern features and a fresh playing feel (thanks to the compound fretboard radius). Vintage Hot Rod series guitars are made by Fender in its American factory, where this '60s Stratocaster was also carefully constructed.

The milky white body of this instrument is made of alder, which has been the trusted base for many solid bodies. It has a nitrocellulose-lacquer finish. Although urethane lacquers are the standard of today, nitrocellulose provides a very thin layer and allows the wood to resonate more freely, for an optimal sound. The high-gloss body is fitted with a 4-layer tortoise pickguard for a distinguished look. The fretboard is made of rosewood and features large pearloid position markers. The headstock is equipped with stable Gotoh machine heads.

American Vintage pickups

Good pickups add extra appeal to an electric guitar and this Vintage Hot Rod is immensely attractive as it is equipped with three American Vintage single coils: the '56 in the bridge position, the '59 near the neck and the '65 in the middle. Each pickup has its own tonal character. The classic Strat sound is always within your reach and the 5-way pickup switch provides great variation. Additionally, the volume knob houses an S-1 switch, enabling you to add the sound of the bridge pickup to positions 3, 4 and 5 for that extra push over the cliff.
