Descrizione

Fender were proud to present this left-handed blue Mustang guitar. It is a nearly exact replica of Kurt's personal modified guitar that made its claim to fame in the 1991 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' music video. Due to its affordable price and alternative shape, the guitarist was a great fan of the Japanese Fender Mustang. Also, the guitar's shorter scale and smaller body were perfect for Cobain's somewhat smaller posture. This left-handed edition of the Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang has a dark Lake Placid Blue urethane finish with cool stripes.

Features of the Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang

Distinctive features of the blue left-handed Mustang are the wicked Seymour Duncan JB humbucker for rougher guitaring and the adjustable 6-saddle Adjustomatic bridge. Other than that, it is a standard version of a classic 24-inch scale Mustang and features an alder body for a full but neat, balanced sound and an angled single-coil neck pickup for those sparkling Fender sounds. Its maple neck is bolted to the body and has a 22-fret rosewood fretboard and a vintage-tint lacquered finish. Additionally, this guitar is equipped with a set of vintage Kluson-style machine heads and a Dynamic Vibrato tailpiece (sometimes incorrectly referred to as tremolo).

Unique pickup configuration with phase out option

Switching between the two pickups is just a little different on the Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang LH than it is on most traditional guitars. Each pickup is provided with its own three-position slide switch. In middle position, the pickup is switched off and in the other two positions it's on. Were you to turn the bridge pickup's switch off and the other one on, you'll use only the neck pickup and vice-versa. Flick both switches in the same direction to use both pickups simultaneously. With the switches in opposite direction, the pickups are out of phase and produce a thinner yet very usable sound. Additionally, a master volume and tone control are at your disposal to fine tune your sound.
