Is it a bass guitar or a baritone guitar? Fender calls it the Bass VI. It's a 6-string instrument that looks like a Fender Jaguar, but with an extra long neck and with a tuning that is a full octave lower than that of a regular guitar. The Bass VI is the perfect instrument for guitarists that want to experiment with playing the bass and vice versa. Originally made between 1961 and 1975, they are once again available in this Limited Edition Japanese Candy Apple Red version.

A Japanese Fender, despite its lower price, can definitely measure up to the American Standard series. This Bass VI too, was given a solid alder body, warranting a full, rich, balanced tone. Its three JG vintage pickups produce the familiar clear and bright single-coil sounds of a Jaguar, making this bass guitar an excellent axe to chop through the mix with. The electronics consist of three switches to separately turn the pickups on or off, and a low-cut that allows you to create a thinner -almost hollow-body-like - sound.

These hand-built guitars were made for the Japanese market only yet are highly coveted all over the world for their combination of vintage design and extremely high quality.
