The previous version of the iPad Air had an A7X processor; the Air 2 has been upgraded with an A8X CPU that's 40% faster and that processes graphics an impressive 2.5 times faster. The thinner screen also has the happy side effect of producing livelier colours with higher contrast. There are a number of new functions such as Continuity, which makes it easy to continue with a project on another device. You can also save all kinds of documents online on the iCloud Drive as well as share films, books, music and apps with up to six other devices (Family Sharing). A number of new and improved apps also come with the device, from email and internet, to video chat and navigation, to an iBook reader and a calendar. Of course, there are also countless other free apps that you can download from the App Store.
