The u-he Hive 2 is an overwhelmingly extensive virtual synthesizer armed with a control-packed interface that makes getting to grips with its more complex sound design tools that bit smoother. The dual structure gives you power over two oscillators, filters, amps, LFOs and plenty more, while a helpful waveform display aids accurate sound shaping with your eyes as well as your ears. The effects bank is just as generous: reverb, delay, chorus, flanger, distortion, equalisation, and compression, and while it may take a couple of weeks to nail everything that this sweet slice of synthesis has to offer, the large interface provides quick access to every parameter and a healthy bunch of presets has been included to start you off.
