The Byzance B14TC-B is a thin crash cymbal that was hand-hammered and given a brilliant finish by repeatedly polishing the cymbal to a shine. The impressive, brilliant look might be an appealing feature, but of course, it's the sound that matters.

The B20 bronze alloy used to create this cymbal provides a solid foundation to work from. Furthermore, while the brilliant finish might make this cymbal look good, it impacts the sound as well, giving rise to plenty of bright, open overtones that embellish the silky, washy, dark core sound of this Thin Crash. And because this is indeed a thin crash, it has a relatively short sustain. The Meinl Byzance B14TC-B Thin Crash is not a cymbal that will cut through your ear drums like a steak knife.
