Devine's M-Mic USB BK is a brilliantly priced, black USB condenser microphone that comes complete with a desktop tripod plus screw thread adapter, a shock mount and a USB cable. It has a cardioid pickup pattern and is highly-sensitive which makes it suitable for wide range of recording situations from vlogging to songwriting. Condenser microphones ordinarily need what's termed a power source (Phantom power) in order to function. The Phantom power is normally supplied by a connected device equipped with Phantom power like a mixer, external Phantom power packs or, in the case of wireless mics, from batteries. This microphone is powered by USB, however, which means all you have to do is connect it to your computer for it to work. Since the M-Mic USB BK does all of the work of an audio interface would do (a unit which turns an analogue signal into a digital one so it can communicate with your computer) you can simply connect it up and start recording with your studio software!
