With the M3 MicTrak shotgun microphone, Zoom do something special. This lightweight camera microphone is able to capture and record distortion and noise-free sound in 32-bit float quality without the need for levelling or an external recorder. Besides stereo recordings, this shotgun supports X/Y setups, recording in mid-side (M/S) RAW and has a 90° or 120° mono polar pattern. The superior audio quality is incredibly detailed whether capturing immersive sound effects in 120° recording mode; focussed dialogue in mono mode; or transparent stereo audio in 90° mode.

Smart Post Production Features

To speed-up the post-production process, the M3 features an automatic back-up function that continuously saves your audio in mid-side RAW so the stereo image is easily adjusted at the point of editing, and the fitted 3.5mm stereo mini-jack output can be used to send the audio directly to the camera to record backup audio and make synchronising the sound and image that bit easier. A maximum recording quality of 96kHz is assured in standard mode, which switches to 48kHz in Audio Interface mode, and SDHC and SDXC MicroSD cards with a maximum capacity of 1 terabyte are supported. To keep things flexible, the M3 MicTrak can also be hooked up to a computer using the included USB-C cable.
