The Countryman Isomax headset has a cardioid pickup pattern that registers vocals or speech directly in front of the microphone. Any ambient noise coming from behind or to the sides of the mic are filtered out, making the mic 30% more efficient than the omnidirectional version. It also has a wider front recording range than the hypercardioid version, making this headset more flexible when aiming the microphone.
