The Catalinbread Formula 5F6 gives you the characteristic sound and response of a vintage tweed Fender Bassman amplifier. It recreates the sound of powerful 6L6 tubes that are on the verge of breaking up. Whichever genre you play, the versatile 5F6 is there for you. Using the pedal with a clean amp will give you a classic guitar tone like that of Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Heavier music styles also work well with the Formula 5F6, which excels in combination with fuzz, overdrive and boost.

Formula 5F6: outstanding dynamic response

The Formula 5F6 is based on one of the most influential amplifiers of all time, the Fender Bassman. Although originally designed as a bass amp, the 3-band EQ and presence control proved perfect for the electric guitar. At low to medium volume the 5F6 produces a sparkling tone rich in harmonics. With a little more volume you start to get a nice edge to your sound. The way the Formula 5F6 responds to your playing is also quite special. Hitting the strings harder or softer, or adjusting the volume control on your guitar, has a substantial effect on the sound.

Catalinbread Formula 5F6 overdrive pedale effetti

Ik ben lang op zoek geweest naar een low gain overdrive die veelzijdig genoeg is. Naar tientallen youtube filmpjes uiteindelijk bij deze uitgekomen. Deze overdrive van catalinbread is het geld zeker waard. Met de drive knop op lage settings is het een sprankelende clean boost; met meer drive wordt het een erg lekkere overdrive die ook nog eens aanslag gevoelig is (dus nog veelzijdiger). Daarnaast zijn de mid/bass/treble knoppen gewoon super handig om je ideale overdrive sound te produceren. Ik speel zelf in een psychedelisch bandje en deze overdrive is daar ontzettend geschikt voor, maar ik kan me ook voorstellen dat ie het geweldig doet in blues en rock muziek. Zeker de moeite waard!
