The 'Super' stands for the lush drive this stompbox is able to produce, which never gets too distorted and retains that smooth and sweet level of overdrive demanded by classic rock and good old electric blues. An ode to the original, this is the very special, 40th Anniversary limited edition.

The SD-1 Super Overdrive: Simple Versatility

Even if you are a high-gain seeker, the BOSS SD-1 might be what you're after. For a start, this pedal more-than comfortably serves as a clean boost, so you can stick it in front of an overdrive amp, open up the Level pot and close the Drive pot, then engage it for a tight, overdriven amplifier sound with enough gain to support metal-worthy tone. The point is, no matter your preferred genres, the BOSS SD-1 Super Overdrive is always going to be a handy pedalboard-based tool.
