With the Gretsch G6139T-CBDC Falcon Center-Block Double Cutaway black, Gretsch has added another attractive model to its ever expanding range of semi-acoustic guitars. The guitar is modelled after the familiar Falcon design, and features a 3-ply maple body with a 16-inch lower bout and elegant f-shaped sound holes.

Center Block

In addition to good looks, a great guitar should also provide a solid sound. To that end, the G6139T-CBDC Falcon is equipped with a center block, which runs along the length of the guitar's body and has a beneficial influence on its sound. First of all, it ensures a full-bodied sound, as the pinned wood base of the bridge extends over the sides of the center block, improving the transfer of string vibrations to the sound holes. The center block is chambered at the lower bout to minimise the overall weight of the guitar, and is made of spruce, which adds liveliness to its tone. Finally, the center block reduces body-resonant feedback, enabling you to play with more gain.

The neck of the G6139T-CBDC Falcon is made of 3-ply maple and its rosewood fingerboard is equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets. Two High Sensitive Filter'Tron pickups, located at bridge and neck, allow for three different configurations and each has its own volume knob.
