The famous brand Gretsch has celebrated its 130th anniversary by releasing a number of new guitars. This beautiful Gretsch G6137TCB Panther Center-Block Double Cutaway black is one of these anniversary models. Featuring an arched body made of 3-ply maple, two graceful f-shaped sound holes and two cutaways, this fantastic instrument will make the heart of many guitarists beat faster. The G6137TCB delivers an outstanding sound and feels great in your hands.

Center Block

A particularly notable feature of this Panther is its center block. Running along the length of its body, it provides the guitar with a number of interesting sonic characteristics. First of all, it reduces body-resonant feedback, enabling you to play at a higher volume. The center block is made of spruce, which adds a lively tone to the overall sound of the instrument, and is chambered at the lower bout to reduce the overall weight. Finally, the pinned wood base of the bridge extends over the sides of the center block, which benefits the transfer of string vibrations to the sound holes, resulting in a full-bodied tone.

Other characteristics

The neck of the G6137TCB Panther is made of 3-ply maple and its rosewood fingerboard is equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets. Two High Sensitive Filter'Tron pickups, located at bridge and neck, allow for three different configurations and each has its own volume knob. A master volume knob is also at your disposal and a jack output located on the top enables you to connect the guitar directly to an amplifier. The G6137TCB Panther Center-Block Double Cutaway BK is supplied with a rugged G6267 Deluxe Hardshell guitar case.
