This limited edition of Gretsch's popular G5420TG semi-acoustic guitar was inspired by the magisterial Black Falcon. The body has been sculpted from 5 pieces of maple, carefully dressed in a super-fly, high-gloss white finish with extra-large, bound f-holes, gold-plated hardware and a gold-coloured pickguard to match. This semi-acoustic explodes with style.
G5420TG: Rock ‘n’ Roll!
The tone of this Electromatic is as alive as its outfit and delivers beautifully shaped resonance. Mounted with two Black Top Filter'tron pickups, you get prominent, detailed punch with exceptional presence: the quintessential Gretsch sound, ever since they first set up shop back in the early years of rock 'n roll. The difference here, in the present, is that you get the full benefit of a treble bleed circuit on the master volume control so you can get rich sound at a lower volume. This maestro of a guitar also has two further volume pots, a master tone control and a 3-way pickup switch to help tame this well-dressed tonal beast.

Deze 'Factory Special Release' van de G5420TG is een fantastisch instrument met een zeer hoge afwerking. Hoger als dat ik gewend ben van de Gretsch gitaren die ik heb gehad in de afgelopen jaren. Hals en bigsby staan goed, de gitaar ontstemt niet. Ik heb alleen de pickups en het zadel afgesteld en correct geïntoneerd, verder was er niets nodig. De gitaar speelt als een zonnetje en klinkt echt onwijs goed. En niet te vergeten: de looks van deze rock 'n' roll machine zijn geweldig natuurlijk! Dit is een blijvertje!
