Guitarist Jim Root (the one with the jester mask from Slipknot) helped Fender to design his all-time favourite electric guitars. The Jim Root Telecaster is a result of this collaboration, a pleasantly sober instrument with a white body and classic Telecaster look with strings-through-body construction. This affordable Squier version is well-equipped for rougher guitar playing, thanks to its two humbucker pickups.
The Jim Root Telecaster: simplicity, comfort and style
The Squier Jim Root Telecaster has a relatively flat fretboard (12-inch radius) and relatively large frets that make it easier to press down the strings without muting the tone. Its body has a master volume knob and a 3-position pickup switch to switch between the two pickups. The pickguard, pickup covers, knobs, peg ends and other hardware are all black, contrasting beautifully on the matte-white finish of the body.
The Squier brand
Some of the most famous Fender models are the Stratocaster and Telecaster electric guitars. Many manufacturers have imitated these guitars in various price ranges. In order to be able to provide a reliable and attractive alternative for beginners themselves, Fender started their subsidiary Squier in 1982. Squier guitars and bass guitars are built according to specifications made by, and under supervision of Fender.
