È una chitarra o un basso? Beh, è lo Squier Classic Vibe Bass VI. In realtà è una via di mezzo tra i due strumenti perché, pur essendo accordato come una chitarra, ha un'ottava in meno. Questo modello dal prezzo interessante è basato sull'originale Fender prodotto tra il 1961 e il 1975. I dettagli autentici del design includono la tinta vintage sul retro del manico, la minuteria nichelata e i loghi sulla paletta.
Classic Vibe Bass VI: un'avventura musicale
Con una lunghezza della scala di 30 pollici, un manico con profilo a C, un raggio di tastiera di 9,5 pollici e tasti stretti e alti, il Bass VI è comodo da suonare sia per i chitarristi che per i bassisti. Grazie a un interruttore a scorrimento per ciascuno dei tre pickup single-coil Fender Designed Alnico, a un altro per il taglio dei bassi e ai controlli di volume e tono, il Bass VI offre un'ampia varietà di toni con cui giocare. What a stimulating instrument! It lends itself to melodic bass lines, with suitably curved fingerboard and strings set as closely as a standard guitar. With careful playing there's no need to adapt it in any way and the player should adjust their bass playing style to the instrument in hand. Consider the masterful playing of Jack Bruce in the early days of Cream: his playing compliments Eric Clapton with precision. The huge variety of sounds with its unusual pickups and comprehensive switching make this a valuable asset, enabling the creative musician.

Wat een fijne bas!
Ja. Het is een bas en geen gitaar.... (was dus wel even zoeken bij bax om 'm te vinden want hier staat hij tussen de gitaren....)
Voor mij als gitarist prettiger te bespelen dan een normale bas met 4 nog dikkere snaren.
Ook fijn dat er 6 snaren op zitten die hetzelfde gestemd zijn als mijn gitaren.
De brug van de cv is veel beter dan op mijn vm jaguar van Squire. Deze heeft tenminste zadels met een brede gleuf (mustang style) zodat de snaren niet verspringen.
Met de kill switch filter je wat bas er uit. Als je dan over een gitaarversterker speelt heb je dat typische lage gitaargeluid van bv the Cure :-) Probeer dat maar eens met een andere basgitaar
Op internet lees je wel over intonatieproblemen. Die heb ik niet gelukkig. Klein beetje afstellen en de brug aan de baskant iets omhoog was alles wat ik hoefde te doen.
Wel ga ik er nog iets dikkere snaren op zetten voor net dat beetje meer bas en een iets strakkere lage e-snaar. Die is nu een beetje aan de wiebelige kant omdat die zo slap staat.

Een andere beleving dan de klassieke 4 snaar. Speelt vlot, verschillende sound die nog eens aanpasbaar is door schakeling. Ik gebruik deze in combinatie met de Rumble studio 40 en niet enkel de british sound, metal of new wave klinkt goed, ook de diepe bas, vol geluid. Het instrument ligt goed in de hand, enkel de geschikte koffer nog vinden. Een mooie aanvulling voor elke bassist in ieder geval.
