If you want to shred just like Satriani, you'll have to practise a lot, but you can make a great start with the JS140, designed by Ibanez in collaboration with Satriani himself! This guitar has a basic construction and looks like an ordinary guitar at first glance. It’s been crammed with all kinds of technology to give you the same playing experience as the famous virtuoso, however!
Edge Zero II
Firstly, the JS140 features an Edge-Zero II tremolo system and a Top-Lock system, making sure that your strings are tuned as perfectly as possible, even after intensive use of the tremolo. This guitar has a basswood body, a maple neck and a fretboard made of rosewood. These three wood types together provide a warm, full sound with great mids. The fretboard is fitted with 24 medium frets and white dots position markers.
Configuration
You're provided with an HH-configuration, which is an Infinity RD humbucker at the neck and a Quantum humbucker at the bridge. By pressing the potentiometer you get three extra configuration options for the pickups to get the most out of your guitar.
