Flipping traditional expectations, the Cordoba Protégé C1 Matiz isn't afraid of a little colour. Besides the striking, offbeat paint-job, this full-sized classical guitar has been uniquely finished with a maple fretboard. This surprising feature has been combined with a spruce soundboard and a mahogany resonance box to create a deep, warm sound with outstanding projection, while the maple fretboard doesn't just add rare style, but injects the sound of this instrument with a distinct, lively response.

The Protégé C1 Matiz: Fine Playability

The entire body and back of the mahogany neck have been coated in a butter-smooth satin-gloss polyurethane lacquer, protecting the wood beneath from dents, scratches, and cracks. While the sound and look departs from the standard, the nut has been kept to a traditional 52mm wide to provide authentic playability and comfort, which is only backed up by the familiar body shape and C-profile neck. The forward-thinking Cordoba Protégé C1 Matiz classical guitar comes complete with a form-fitting gig bag made from recycled nylon.
