Just like its fully acoustic family sibling, the Yamaha CGX-122MSC features a solid spruce top and an elegant matte finish. This electro-acoustic model comes from the popular Yamaha CGX series and offers a beautiful sound full of tight basses, rich mids and bright trebles, thanks to its top. That it features a solid top is rather special for this price class, and you'll find that compared to laminated tops it offers impressive dynamics and extra sustain.

Exclusive ART pickups and System61 preamplifier

The CGX-122MSC has a two-way pickup and a System 61 ART preamp on board. The ART pickups pick up the sound directly from the top, which keeps the sound closer to the original acoustic tone. They're sensitive enough for subtle playing, and you don't have to worry about distortion if you play loud. Finally, the System 61 preamplifier features a 3-band EQ control so you can easily adjust your levels right from your guitar.
