Descrizione

SPL's Phonitor 2 is a high-end studio headphone monitoring amplifier that gives you the same stereo image and true monitor sound on your headphones as you get in your studio. It's essentially a combination of a monitoring controller and a headphone amplifier. There are controls to adjust the centre point, the cross feed, the angle, the volume and the laterality, and you can choose from three different sound sources. As well as this version in silver, the Phonitor 2 is available in black.

Headphones and remote control

The Phonitor 2 can be used with any set of headphones that have an impedance greater than 10 ohms. Thanks to the powerful output, it has enough power for high-impedance headphones. The preamplifier is optimised for balanced headphones with an impedance greater than 40 ohms however. The Phonitor 2's volume can be adjusted by any infrared remote control after easy set up, which is always handy.

Ha scritto quanto segue su SPL Phonitor 2 - Silver Edition amplificatore per cuffie

Erg handige combinatie van hoofdtelefoon versterker en monitor controller.
De bouwkwaliteit is goed, netjes afgewerkt.
De geluidskwaliteit behouden. Wanneer er meerdere geludsbronnen en eindversterker op aangesloten worden, kan men het gebruiken als iput selector en volume regelaar. Hierbij wordt de klank van het geluid heel nauwkeurig overgenomen zonder dat de Phonitor er zelf een karakteristiek aan mee geeft. Hierdoor klinkt de muziek precies zoals het uit je draaitafel of DA-converter komt.
De VU-meters die er op zitten zijn handig om te voorkomen dat de signaalsterkte van je input niet te hard is, zodat flattening voorkomen wordt.

De handleiding die er bij zit is wel erg mager, er staan weinig specificaties in en is meer een handleiding voor het bedienen van de Phonitor. Bij studio apparatuur verwacht je toch eerder een datasheet dan een een bedieningshandleiding.
