This is a 1/2 sized model, which means it's great for children from about 8 years of age, or for folks with an arm length of about 53 cm. 1/2-size violins

The 1/2 size is suitable for children with an arm length of about 53 cm. The arm length should be measured from the centre of your palm to your neck, right below your jaw. Your hand should be able to comfortably curl around the scroll, with your fingers pointed at your face and your elbow only slightly curved. When in doubt, always go with the smaller of the two sizes. Please be aware that 1/2 size does not mean that this violin is half the size of a 4/4 full-size violin; the difference is much more subtle.
