Descrizione

The Babyface - RME's first compact audio interface - may be small in size, but certainly delivers the goods. It provides you with twenty-two channels of 192kHz audio, and features an instrument input as well as an internal microphone preamplifier with a 48V phantom power supply.

To keep the Babyface as compact as possible, RME fitted the interface with a breakout cable with two balanced XLR audio inputs, two balanced audio outputs and a MIDI I/O. The audio interface itself is fitted with a Hi-Z instrument input, a stereo headphone output and an optical ADAT or S/PDIF input/output.

Like its bigger counterparts, the Babyface comes with TotalMix software, which gives you a fully virtual digital DSP mixer, a three-band equalizer, several effects and comprehensive routing options. A quick USB 2.0 port is included as well, and the interface is compatible with both PC and Mac.

Thanks to its compact dimensions, the RME Babyface is suitable for rehearsal spaces as well as studio and stage applications. Bands, DJs and live acts looking for a compact USB sound card - take note!

Ha scritto quanto segue su RME Babyface

Schijnt tegenwoordig ook met de iPad (iOS7) overweg te kunnen middels tussenkomst van de camera connection kit voor de iPad met USB aansluiting. Dan kun je van je iPad in feite een portable opnamestudio maken, hetgeen bij de Apogee Duet 2 voor Apple niet het geval is. Daar kan dat alleen met een Macbook Air of Macbook Pro. Leuk de marketing bij Apogee, maar er zijn dus betere alternatieven zoals de Babyface van RME op de markt.

Hoewel de Duet 2 er veeeeeel beter uitziet, moet je dat even wegdenken.
Geweldig apparaat. Zeer degelijk. Zeer goede converter.

Ha scritto quanto segue su RME Babyface

Ben je op zoek naar een goede interface/geluidskaart waar je meteen alle essentiële dingen op aan kan sluiten, dan vind ik dit een aanrader.
Voor mijn thuisstudio zocht ik een goede interface. De onboard geluidskaart van mijn pc voldeed uiteraard niet aan de eisen voor een degelijke setup. Mijn leraar in audioproductie raadde me dit apparaat aan en daar heb ik geen spijt van.

Het apparaat krijgt zijn stroom via 1 of 2 (vaak is 1 voldoende) USB poorten op je computer. Na de installatie zou je alles via het apparaat kunnen laten lopen. Bij mij zijn de monitors/speakers, microfoon, koptelefoon en midi keyboard erop aangesloten. Het mooie is dat dit meteen gebalanceerd aangesloten kan worden.
Input en output volume zijn apart in te stellen en ik regel het algemeen volume nu ook met de draaiknop. Een recall knop laat de laatst gekozen instelling bewaren en is dan direct weer op te roepen.

Het is degelijk gebouwd en voelt solide aan. Ook de afwerking is in orde en misstaat niet bij je eventuele andere spullen.

Ik vind hem zijn prijs waard en zal hem wellicht een volgende keer weer aanschaffen.

Als laatste moet ik zeggen dat ik nooit eerder zo heb moeten lachen om een humoristisch geschreven quickstart manual.
