Matt Halpern is known, among others, as the drummer of the band Periphery. For his loud and technical playing style, he was looking for the right combination of cymbals for a stack for a long time. Together with Meinl, he created a set called the Double Down Stack for the Artis Concept series. This involves laying a 17-inch top on top of an 18-inch bottom.
