Allen & Heath's Xone:PX5 is a 4+1 channel digital DJ Mixer with an analogue soul. Four of the channels give you the choice between using a phono, line or USB connector while channel A gives you mic, line or USB. The built-in Xone:Xcite FX section lets you add effects like delays, modulators, flangers and distorters which can be easily controlled by hand allowing you to put your own personal stamp on every performance.
Connectors
Apart from the jack & mini jack headphone sockets that can be found on the top of the unit, all of the other connectors are located on the rear. Thanks to the USB port, you can easily connect a laptop or computer to the Xone:PX5 and make use of the premium internal 20-channel, 24-bit, 96 kHz USB2 soundcard which opens up plenty more possibilities.

There's a versatile Send/Return feature so that you can add external FX hardware should you so desire. The PX5 also has an integrated MIDI clock engine and that means you can send commands from the mixer to devices like drum machines and synthesizers that are connected via jack sockets and the 5-pin MIDI Sync/Out. The X-link connector (RJ45) allows you to connect Xone:K series controllers that you can use to control your software while leaving the USB ports on your computer free. The VCF section has hi, band and low-pass filter as well as adjustable resonance and sweep. In addition to the effects mentioned previously, there are also focus and decay effects with which you can adjust the overall tone of your sound.

giovedì 11 agosto 2016 di SaraAllen & Heath è ormai maestra nel tenere tutti col fiato sospeso: il mese scorso ha finalmente presentato in antemprima il suo nuovissimo Xone:PX5 nell'esclusivo club Berghain di Berlino.
