The sound has remained the same, so you can enjoy the well-known, fresh Audix kick sounds.

Audix D6 Anniversary Edition: great power comes with great responsibility

The true power of the D6 can be found in its sound. Smiley EQs are often applied to kick drums – for shattering bass tones, muted mids to counter ambient noise and boosted trebles for a pleasant attack. As the D6 already provides this curve, hardly any EQ needs to be applied, resulting in a less EQ-distorted sound.

Applications

As you might have gleaned by now, this microphone is mainly used for kick drums. It can also be used for a number of other applications, however. Bass cabinets and floor toms are no problem for the Audix D6 Anniversary Edition! Thanks to its dynamic capsule, it can handle extreme sound pressure levels. With a frequency range of 30 Hz to 15 kHz, it is excellently suited for lower tones.
