The sE Electronics sE5 condenser microphone goes on where the popular sE4 left of. This is a new budget standard for microphones with a small diaphragm. It has excellent properties and a cardioid pickup pattern. Also, it features switches for 100 Hz bass cut and -10/-20 dB pad. As a luxury bonus you are provided with a shockmount, an essential accessory for during recordings, when shocks and vibrations need to be absorbed. You can use this microphone in the studio as well as live and it's ideal for recording drums, percussion, piano and strings instruments.

Properties of the SE Electronics sE5 condenser microphone

If you have ever recorded the aforementioned drums, piano and string instruments, you know that the dynamic range of these instruments can be quite extensive. You will need a microphone that can handle a high maximum SPL, a microphone like this sE5. It has a maximum sound pressure level of 170 dB and everything is accurately registered. The frequency range is full range, so anything within human hearing can be picked up.
